Sulphur, Louisiana – The City of Sulphur has announced a temporary lane closure on Kent Street this weekend to support the Rotary Club Jingle Bell Jog and protect participants along the route.
According to the city, one lane on Kent Street, from Pecan Street to Ginger Street, will be closed on Saturday, December 13, from 4:30 p.m. to approximately 6 p.m. The closure is scheduled to last about an hour and a half, though the exact end time may vary slightly depending on how long the event takes to finish.
City officials stated the lane closure is intended to ensure the safety of runners taking part in the Jingle Bell Jog. Restricting traffic in the area reduces the chances of conflicts between vehicles and participants while the event is underway.
Drivers traveling through this part of Sulphur during the event window are urged to use caution, expect brief delays, and watch for pedestrians and event signage. The city is asking motorists to follow all posted signs and obey any directions given in the area.
