Lake Charles Vehicle Burglary Investigation Leads to Arrest of Two Suspects; Third Hospitalized

Lake Charle, Louisiana – In an ongoing investigation into vehicle burglaries in Calcasieu Parish, two suspects were apprehended yesterday evening. Joshua R. Garcia, 18, and Nicholas D. Kirkum, 23, both from Lake Charles, are now detained at the Calcasieu Correctional Center. Garcia had attempted to evade law enforcement on foot while Kirkum was discovered at a local business.

Garcia is facing charges for resisting arrest by fleeing the scene and his bail has been set at $5,000 by Judge Michael Canaday. Meanwhile, Kirkum is accused of illegally possessing stolen items and his bond status remains pending.

The third suspect in this case is Dakota W. Hall, 27 also from Lake Charles. Currently hospitalized, a warrant for his arrest has been issued with charges including aggravated assault on a peace officer; aggravated flight from an officer; resisting an officer by flight. His bail has been set significantly higher at $305,000 by Judge Canaday.
