Fatal Crash in Westlake Involving Motorcycle and Four-Wheeler Under Investigation

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash in Westlake involving a motorcycle and a four-wheeler.

Westlake, LA – Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the 3100 block of Davis Road in Westlake last night at approximately 10:30 p.m. in response to a crash involving a motorcycle and a four-wheeler.

The motorbike and the four-wheeler were both heading north on Davis Road when the motorcycle impacted the four-wheeler from behind, according to the preliminary investigation. The motorcycle’s driver and single occupant, as well as the four-driver wheeler’s and two passengers, were all ejected. Trey Augustine, 29, of Westlake, was the motorcycle’s driver and was pronounced dead at the scene. The four-wheeler driver and a 14-year-old passenger were taken to the hospital, where the 14-year-old girl was later pronounced dead.

The accident is still being investigated. Standard toxicological testing will be carried out in compliance with Louisiana state law. The 30-year-old four-wheeler driver was seriously injured, while the other passenger, a 15-year-old, was just slightly hurt.
