In response to the open spillway gates at Toledo Bend Reservoir, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is vigilantly preparing for potential flooding in Calcasieu Parish. Chief Deputy Stitch Guillory has issued a statement emphasizing the proactive measures being taken to ensure the safety of residents in the affected areas.

Currently, areas such as Alligator Park Road, Bass Lake Road, Fountain Cemetery Road, Jimmy Doyle Road in Starks, as well as Wright Road and Steward Road in Vinton, are experiencing some degree of flooding. Residents are urged to remain alert and observant of the situation unfolding in their surroundings.

To address any emergency situations or provide assistance to those in need of evacuation, the Sheriff’s Office has deployed high-water vehicles and boats strategically in the identified areas. Residents are encouraged to report any flood-related concerns promptly to ensure a swift and effective response from the authorities.
