Moss Bluff, Louisiana - A 13-year-old student at Moss Bluff Middle School was arrested on October 23 after making a threat to bring a gun to school, according to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office. This incident marks the third time in two weeks that a student from the same school has been arrested on charges of terrorizing.

The investigation began at approximately 1:00 p.m. on October 23, when detectives were dispatched to the school in response to a threat made by the student. During the investigation, it was learned that the student had threatened to bring a gun to school, leading to their arrest and booking into the Juvenile Detention Center. The student was charged with terrorizing-menacing, a serious offense that carries significant consequences.

Calcasieu Sheriff Stitch Guillory emphasized the importance of maintaining a secure and supportive environment for students. "I want to assure the community that the safety of our students and schools remains our top priority," Sheriff Guillory stated. "Unfortunately, some individuals have chosen to disrupt that peace through irresponsible actions. We urge parents to have open conversations with their children about the consequences of making threats."

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office (CPSO) and the Calcasieu Parish School Board (CPSB) have been working closely together to address these threats and ensure that students feel safe and supported in their learning environment. CPSO Detective William Vaughan led the investigation, with assistance from the CPSB.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
