Moss Bluff Middle School Student Arrested by Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office for Allegedly Making Gun Threat

Moss Bluff, Louisiana – A concerning incident unfolded at Moss Bluff Middle School in Calcasieu Parish on October 22, when a 13-year-old student allegedly made a threat to bring a gun to school, prompting a swift response from law enforcement and school officials.

According to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO), detectives were dispatched to the school at approximately 1:00 p.m. in response to the reported threat. Upon investigating the matter, authorities learned that the student had made the threat to multiple students while on school premises.

Following a thorough investigation led by CPSO Detective Clay Planchard, the 13-year-old student was taken into custody and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center. The student has been charged with terrorizing-menacing, a serious offense that involves making threats with the intent to intimidate or frighten others.

The Calcasieu Parish School Board cooperated fully with the CPSO investigation, providing valuable assistance to authorities as they worked to resolve the situation.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
