Westlake, Louisiana - The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide after an unidentified woman's body was discovered in a ditch along Trousdale Road in Westlake on Friday morning.

Deputies responded to the 200 block of Trousdale Road around 11 a.m. on Oct. 10 following reports of a body found in the area. Law enforcement officials quickly classified the death as a homicide, though the investigation remains in its preliminary stages.
