Simmesport, Louisiana - The Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations has made a significant arrest in connection with a burglary at the Simmesport Police Department headquarters. On July 11, 2024, Officer Kentravious Prater from the Simmesport Police Department was taken into custody for his alleged involvement in the theft of three firearms, a ballistic vest, and a mobile radio from the department's premises.

Following a thorough investigation by the Louisiana State Police, it was determined that Officer Prater was the individual responsible for the missing items.
