Lake Charles, Louisiana - Both eastbound lanes on the Interstate 10 Calcasieu River Bridge reopened after a late-night crash on March 6 shut down all lanes in both directions, according to the latest traffic update.

As of 11 a.m. on March 7, both westbound lanes on the I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge remained closed while crews continued repairs. Work was focused on the guardrail and other parts of the bridge damaged in the incident.

The bridge closure affected traffic in both directions overnight after the crash forced a full shutdown. By late Friday morning, eastbound traffic had resumed, but westbound drivers were still facing restrictions as repair crews remained on site.

The Calcasieu River Bridge is a key section of Interstate 10 in Southwest Louisiana, and lane closures there can affect regional travel. In this case, transportation crews were still working late into the morning to restore the westbound side safely.
