Baton Rouge, Louisiana - Louisiana Bureau of Investigation agents, working alongside federal and state partners, arrested Denilson Bustillo-Izaguirre, 27, on August 11, 2025, for possessing child sexual abuse material. The arrest took place on Southpark Drive in Baton Rouge after authorities received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, a nonprofit organization that helps protect children from exploitation and abduction.

Bustillo-Izaguirre faces ten felony counts under Louisiana Revised Statute 14:81.1, which covers possession of child sexual abuse material depicting children under the age of thirteen. This law targets individuals who hold or distribute material showing child sexual abuse, and violations can result in prison sentences, significant fines, or both.

The joint investigation was led by the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation Cyber Crime Unit in partnership with Homeland Security Investigations. After his arrest, Bustillo-Izaguirre was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) also issued a detainer hold, a legal request to keep individuals who may be subject to immigration proceedings in custody.

Attorney General Liz Murrill commented on the case, stating, “My office won’t stop until those who hurt our kids are brought to justice.” Authorities also clarified that Bustillo-Izaguirre was not legally authorized to be in the United States.

The total bond set for Bustillo-Izaguirre was $2,500,000. The investigation remains ongoing, and further charges may occur as officials continue to examine evidence and follow leads.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
