New Trial Pending for Lake Charles Man Previously Found Guilty of Sexually Assaulting Victim Under Thirteen and Faces Sentence Ranging From 25 to 99 Years for Each Count

Lake Charles, Louisiana – On February 21, Joshua C. Boyd, 42, from Lake Charles, was convicted of molestation and sexual battery against a victim who was under thirteen years old.

In 2021, the victim, who was ten years old when the crime occurred, informed a teacher at her school that Boyd had been sexually assaulting her for several years.

Boyd is facing a potential sentence of twenty-five (25) to ninety-nine (99) years for each charge. His sentencing is scheduled for February 27, 2025, in front of Judge Joseph Pousson.
