Lake Charles, Louisiana – Golden Chick, a restaurant chain originating from San Marcos, Texas, has revealed plans to open a new location on Hwy 14, just North of Big Lots in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Established in 1967 by Howard and Jacque Walker, the eatery, initially named Golden Fried Chicken, quickly rose to fame for its delectable fried chicken and biscuits. Alongside these classics, Golden Chick’s menu boasts a variety of seafood, sandwiches, salads, and sides.

As per their official announcement, the upcoming Golden Chick Lake Charles establishment will be situated on Hwy 14 near Big Lots. Golden Chick has also announced a new Sulphur restaurant that will be located on Cities Service Hwy in the area between the Walmart Supercenter and Dollar General.

Golden Chick has witnessed significant growth over the years, expanding from 39 to more than 175 locations across five states. A pivotal moment in its evolution occurred in 1985 with the introduction of the iconic Golden Tender. Crafted from whole chicken tenderloin, marinated for a day, hand-battered, and expertly cooked, the Golden Tender has earned a reputation as the filet mignon of chicken dishes.

The restaurant’s commitment to excellence has garnered recognition, including accolades like Zagat’s commendation for its Chicken Salad Sandwich in 2016 and being named a top 200 U.S. brand by Nations Restaurant News in 2017.
