Lake Charles Garbage Collection Schedule for Christmas and New Year Holiday
Lake Charles, Louisiana – On December 23, 2022, the City of Lake Charles announced its Christmas and New Year Holiday garbage pickup schedules
The City of Lake Charles will observe the Christmas Holiday on Monday, December 26, 2022, and the New Year’s Holiday on Monday, January 2, 2023.
The following changes will be made to garbage and trash collection schedules:
Christmas Holiday Schedule:
- Garbage and Trash scheduled for pickup on Monday, December 26, 2022, will be rescheduled for pickup on Tuesday, December 27, 2022.
- Garbage and Trash scheduled for pick up on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, will be picked up on Wednesday, December 28, 2022.
- Thursday and Friday routes will remain on their regular schedules.
- The Wood Waste Facility, the Team Green Recycling Truck and the Nelson Ball Field Recycling Stations will be closed on Monday, December 26, 2022. They will resume regular schedules on Tuesday, December 27, 2022.
New Year’s Holiday Schedule:
- Garbage and Trash scheduled for pickup on Monday, January 2, 2023, will be rescheduled for pickup on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
- Garbage and Trash scheduled for pickup on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, will be rescheduled for pick up on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.
- Thursday and Friday routes will remain on their regular schedules.
- The Wood Waste Facility, the Team Green Recycling Truck and the Nelson Ball Field Recycling Station will be closed on Monday, January 2, 2023, and will resume their regular schedules on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
Christmas trees may be placed curbside for collection after all lights and decorations have been removed.
The city also wanted to remind residents that containers and other items for removal shall be placed before the hour of 7 a.m. on collection day or on the evening proceeding collection day. Containers shall be removed no later than 7 pm on the day of collection.
The owner, occupant, tenant, etc., is responsible for collecting any spillage from the container.
Lake Charles City Hall and all other services of the Department of Public Works will be closed on Monday, December 26, 2022, in observance of the Christmas Holiday and will resume regular working hours on Tuesday, December 27, 2022. Offices will also be closed on Monday, January 2, 2023, in observance of the New Year’s Holiday and will resume regular working hours on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
