Published January 29, 2020

At approximately 4:30 a.m. on January 29, 2020, a Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s deputy attempted a traffic stop on Hwy 14 in Lake Charles near the intersection of Oak Park Blvd. Radio chatter indicated that the reason for the stop was due to running a red light and bright lights. The driver did not stop at first, then stopped near PG’s Diner on Hwy 14. It was reported that the driver then exited the vehicle and yelled something at the officer before getting back into the vehicle and proceeding to drive away.

The pursuit lead deputies south down Hwy 14, east on Tank Farm, north on Wardline Road, north on Hwy 397, then finally east on Hwy 90. Deputies pursued the vehicle for approximately 25 minutes before terminating the pursuit on Hwy 90 near Packing House Rd in Iowa, LA.
