Homicide at Walmart Store in Lake Charles Being Investigated By Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide in Lake Charles that took the life of a 15-year-old girl.
 
 
From CPSO – Saturday, January 23, 2021, approximately 7:30 p.m. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a grocery store on Highway 14 in Lake Charles in reference to a stabbing.
The initial investigation revealed there was a fight between several young girls inside the store, at which time a 15-year-old was stabbed. The victim was later pronounced dead.
 
 
After a search, CPSO detectives located the suspect, Regan Broussard, 13, Lake Charles, in reference to the homicide. If anyone has any information about the case they are asked to contact the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office at 491-3605.
 
 
The next of kin has not been notified so the victim’s name has not been released.
 
The Calcasieu Coroner will determine the cause of death.
 
*Note: Under normal circumstances, juveniles’ names and information are not released. The release yesterday was an unusual occurrence and was for the safety of not only the public but the juvenile in question.
