Bogalusa, Louisiana – Louisiana State Police are investigating a deadly pedestrian crash that occurred Saturday evening on Highway 21 in Washington Parish, claiming the life of a 60-year-old Bogalusa, Louisiana, resident.
Jackson Brown of Bogalusa, Louisiana, died after being struck by a 2023 Nissan Sentra while walking in the southbound lane of LA 21 at LA 3124, according to Louisiana State Police Troop L. The crash happened shortly before 9:00 p.m. on September 13, 2025.
Investigators determined that Brown was walking south in the right southbound lane when the Nissan, also traveling south in the same lane, struck him with its front bumper. The specific reason why Brown was in the roadway remains under investigation.
Brown sustained fatal injuries from the impact and was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency responders were unable to save his life despite their efforts.
The driver of the Nissan Sentra was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and suffered only minor injuries. Medical personnel transported the driver to a local hospital for treatment as a precautionary measure.
Louisiana State Police have not yet determined whether impairment played a role in the crash. As part of standard protocol for serious traffic incidents, investigators collected routine toxicology samples that will be analyzed in a laboratory.
