Sulphur, Louisiana - On July 26, 2024, Judge Robert Wyatt handed down a life sentence to Erron E. Fontenot, 24, of Sulphur, Louisiana, for the Second Degree Murder of a victim who was shot in the head and later pronounced deceased at a hospital in 2023.

District Attorney Stephen Dwight expressed satisfaction with the verdict, stating, "I am happy that justice was served today. This defendant showed no remorse for taking a life and he deserves to spend the rest of his life in prison."
