Louisiana Driver Arrested for Vehicular Homicide, Other Charges in Connection with Fatal July Crash
Louisiana – On August 8, 2022, Louisiana State Police reported that on August 5, 2022, Jaquan-Maleek Hebert, 20, of Golden Meadow, Louisiana, was arrested on charges relating to a deadly crash that killed 43-year-old Michael Guill of Cut Off, Louisiana.
Following the deadly incident on July 11, 2022, Troopers tried to discover who was driving the GMC truck. Significant evidence pointed to Hebert as the driver at the time of the crash, according to the inquiry. A breathalyzer sample taken from Hebert the morning of the crash revealed a blood alcohol percentage over the legal limit as well. Hebert eventually admitted to driving the vehicle.
Hebert was taken into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center after troopers secured an arrest warrant for him. He was charged with vehicular homicide, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, felony hit and run driving, establishing of speed zones, careless operation, operating a vehicle while license is suspended, safety belt use, secretary to require periodical vehicle inspection, violations of registration provisions, security (motor vehicle liability insurance) required, and owner to secure registration.
