29-Year-Old Louisiana Man Arrested Suspected in the Shooting Death of His Sister and Attempted Murder of Another Woman
Baton Rouge, Louisiana – A 29-year-old man from Louisiana has been arrested and is suspected of shooting his sister to death and attempting to murder another woman.
On April 27, 2023, the Baton Rouge Police Department reported that Homicide Detectives arrested Gerald McDowell, 29, suspected in the shooting death of his sister, Kevineisha McDowell, 18, and a 27-year-old female victim.
According to authorities, the shooting occurred after the siblings had a verbal argument at a family gathering on April 24, 2023.
The 27-year-old victim is in stable condition at a local hospital.
McDowell was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for 1st Degree Murder, Attempt 1st Degree Murder, and Illegal Use of a Weapon.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
