AT&T Internet Outage Causes Disruption in Southwest Louisiana
Lake Charles, Louisiana – Southwest Louisiana experienced a significant internet outage on the evening of Thursday, February 15, leaving many residents and businesses without connectivity. Reports flooded social media platforms as numerous AT&T customers voiced their frustrations.
The outage, which began at around 6 pm, was swiftly acknowledged by the website Down Detector, which recorded a sharp increase in reported AT&T outages. Local agencies, including the Westlake Police Department and Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Offices, also confirmed that their phone systems were affected by the outage.
In light of the situation, individuals requiring emergency services were urged to contact 911. However, the impact of the outage extended beyond Southwest Louisiana, affecting areas beyond the region as well.
Interestingly, the outage appears to be sporadic, affecting some AT&T customers while leaving others unscathed. As of 8:45 pm, the AT&T outage map indicated no ongoing outages in Southwest Louisiana. However, customers have been informed that the disruption could persist until the afternoon of Friday, February 16.
AT&T is actively working to resolve the issue and restore internet services to affected customers. The cause of the outage has not yet been disclosed.
