Westlake Traffic Stop Results in Arrest of 2 for Drugs

Westlake, LA – The Westlake Police Department reported that officers were patrolling an area known for recent drug trafficking on Saturday, February 12, 2022. Officers conducted a traffic stop on a four-door sedan driving away from the scene. A strong odor of marijuana was emanating from the vehicle when officers approached the driver. Officers detain four people who were in the car. Officers discovered 209 grams of marijuana, 11 CDS Schedule II pills, two scales, and a.45 caliber handgun during the investigation.
Jamarcus Moore and a juvenile subject were arrested; the other two subjects were released. Moore was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center, while the juvenile was arrested and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center.
The arresting officers were Quebodeaux and Matte.
