WESTLAKE, La. — The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced an overnight lane closure on Interstate 10 westbound in Westlake.
According to LaDOTD, the left lane of I-10 westbound from Exit 26, Trousdale Road/PPG Drive, to about a quarter-mile before Exit 25, Interstate 210, will be closed from 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2026, until 5 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
The agency said the closure is needed for coring the inside lane shoulder. Coring is a roadwork process that involves cutting or drilling into pavement so crews can examine or prepare the surface for additional work.
The work area is located in Westlake and affects a stretch of one of Southwest Louisiana’s main travel corridors. Motorists traveling west on I-10 near the I-210 interchange should expect a reduced traffic flow during the overnight hours and allow extra travel time if needed.
LaDOTD said the work will be performed weather permitting, meaning rain or other poor conditions could affect the schedule.
Drivers are encouraged to use caution in the construction zone, watch for crews and equipment, and stay alert for changing traffic conditions.
