Lake Charles, Louisiana - A road closure is set to impact commuters in Lake Charles, as the eastbound lane of West Prien Lake Road will be closed daily, Monday through Friday, to facilitate an electrical grid upgrade. The closure, which will begin on Monday, September 23, at 7 am, will affect the stretch of road from Burton Lane to just east of the Cove Lane Traffic Circle.

The closure, expected to last through 5 pm on Friday, October 11, will enable Entergy contractors to replace 11 electrical poles and associated wiring. This upgrade is part of a broader effort to enhance the electrical grid in the area.

To minimize disruptions to traffic, traffic control measures will be in place to ensure the continuous flow of traffic. Residents on Arvilla and Burton Lanes will also have uninterrupted access to their homes throughout the closure.

The electrical grid upgrade is a critical infrastructure project that will improve the reliability and efficiency of the electrical supply in the area. While the closure may cause some short-term disruptions, the long-term benefits of the upgrade will be significant.
