Vinton, LA – Vinton, Louisiana, is gearing up for an exciting day of festivities as it prepares to host its annual Mardi Gras celebration on Saturday, February 22nd. This year’s events will feature a much-anticipated Chicken Run and Parade, inviting residents and visitors alike to participate in a day filled with community spirit and entertainment.

The Chicken Run will begin with line-up at 8:00 AM, followed by departure at 9:00 AM from Ted Lyons Ballpark. Participants in the Chicken Run must pay an admission fee of $15 per person, while those aged ten and under can join for free. It is important to note that each participant must pay, sign a waiver, and receive a wristband in order to ride or take part in the run. The event welcomes all ATVs, trailers, and floats, making it a lively gathering for off-road enthusiasts. However, it is mandated that any driver operating an ATV or side-by-side vehicle must be at least 21 years old. Additionally, those pulling trailers will be responsible for the safety and well-being of all individuals aboard their trailers.

The parade will follow the Chicken Run, with line-up scheduled at 1:00 PM and a departure time of 2:00 PM from either Ted Lyons or Vinton Middle School (VMS). Unlike the Chicken Run, ATVs are not permitted in the parade. Participants are encouraged to bring along their parade throws, adding an extra layer of excitement to the day’s events.

For families attending, the parking lot next to the Farmhouse will provide a variety of activities. Games, face painting for children, and live music by Zydecane will create a festive atmosphere, while free gumbo will be available to enjoy. More details regarding these family-friendly activities are expected to be announced soon.
