Interstate 10 Lane Closures for Asphalt and Barrier Work

Vinton, Louisiana – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced lane closures on Interstate 10 for necessary maintenance work. Commuters and travelers should take note of the following closures and plan their routes accordingly.

Starting from 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, the right lane of Interstate 10 Eastbound will be closed. This closure will extend from the Weigh Station at Mile Marker 2.5 to Exit 4 at Mile Marker 4. The closure will last until 6 a.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2024. Additionally, the same lane closure will be implemented again from 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2024, until 6 a.m. on Friday, February 16, 2024. These closures are necessary for crews to prepare for asphalt work.

In addition to the eastbound closures, the left lane of Interstate 10 Westbound will also be affected. The closure will begin at Mile Marker 8 (Exit 7) and extend to Mile Marker 9 (Exit 9). This lane closure will also be in effect from 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, until 6 a.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2024. Similarly, it will occur again from 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2024, until 6 a.m. on Friday, February 16, 2024. The purpose of this closure is to allow crews to remove temporary concrete barriers.

These lane closures are essential for the maintenance and improvement of Interstate 10. Commuters are advised to plan their journeys in advance, considering possible delays and alternative routes.
