VINTON, LA. — The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced upcoming alternating lane closures on Interstate 10 in Calcasieu Parish for maintenance work.
The closures will affect both eastbound and westbound traffic between the Texas state line and Coone Gully Bridge at Mile Marker 9.5 in Vinton. The work is scheduled during overnight and weekend hours to minimize disruption to commuters.
According to DOTD officials, the lane restrictions will be in effect during the following timeframes:
- 8 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2025, to 9 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025
- 8 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025, to 12 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2025
- 7 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2025, to 6 a.m. Monday, April 14, 2025
DOTD crews will be performing temporary striping operations throughout the affected area, which spans approximately 9.5 miles from the state border.
Motorists traveling between Texas and Louisiana during these periods should expect potential delays and are advised to use caution when driving through the work zone. While at least one lane will remain open in each direction, traffic congestion is possible, particularly during the earlier hours of the closures.
The temporary striping is part of routine maintenance to ensure road markings remain visible to drivers, helping maintain safety standards on this heavily traveled interstate corridor.
