Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office Arrests for the Week of January 9, 2023 – January 15, 2023

Vernon Parish, Louisiana – On January 17, 2023, Vernon Parish Sheriff Sam Craft reported that the following recent arrests were made by Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office.

All persons are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

January 10, 2023, Lucy Mae Perkins Taylor, age 72, of Leesville, Louisiana, was arrested and charged with one count of Bank Fraud and one count of Criminal Mischief. Bond was set at $ 38,500.00. Taylor posted bond and was released.

January 11, 2023, John Michael Humphrey, age 37, of Evans, Louisiana, was arrested and charged with one count of Turning movements and required signals and one count of Possession of Schedule IV Narcotic. Bond was set at $ 10,635.00. Humphrey posted bond and was released.

January 12, 2023, Justin Maront Smith, age 41, of DeRidder, Louisiana, was arrested and charged with one count of Domestic Abuse Battery. Bond was set at $15,000.00. Smith posted bond and was released.

January 13, 2023, Jarred Daniel Haftopulos, age 28, of Leesville, Louisiana, was arrested and charged with one count of Domestic Abuse Battery, one count of Cruelty to the Infirmed, one count of Exploitation of Infirmed Persons, and two counts of Domestic Abuse Aggravated Assault. Bond has not been set and Haftopulous remains in the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office jail.
Ricky John Ashworth, age 28, of Leesville, was arrested and charged with one count of Principal to Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling. Bond was set at $ 35,000.00. Ashworth remains in the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office jail.

January 14, 2023, Timothy Ryan Jeter, age 40, of Pitkin, Louisiana, was arrested and charged with one count of Domestic Abuse Battery – Aggravated and one count of Resisting an Officer. Bond has not been set and Jeter remains in the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office jail.
