Vehicle Towing Trailer With Solar Panels and Components Catches Fire on I-49 in Louisiana
Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana – A vehicle towing a trailer with solar panels and components caught fire on I-49 in Louisiana.
The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office (NPSO) reported that NPSO Deputies, Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #5, and Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS responded to NATCOM 911 Center reports of a vehicle fire on I-49 southbound around milepost 132 south of Natchitoches, Louisiana.
As authorities arrived on the scene, the vehicle was completely engulfed in flames.
A 2021 Ford F-150 towing a trailer loaded with solar panels and components was a total loss, according to deputies, but firemen from Fire District #5 were able to save the trailer.
The Alexandria, Louisiana driver was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation by EMS and released without transfer pending a visit with a personal medical practitioner, if necessary.
The interstate was briefly stopped while firefighters battled a fire that had spread into the grassy median near the tree line.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
