US 171 Calcasieu River Bridge Closures June 9-16 in Moss Bluff
Moss Bluff, Louisiana – On June 9, 2022, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announced that there will be alternating lane closures of U.S. 171 northbound on the 171 Calcasieu River Bridge from milepost 4.1 to 5.0, starting Thursday, June 9, 2022, to Thursday, June 16, 2022.
The closures are scheduled as follows:
- Thursday, June 9 at 7 p.m. until Friday, June 10 at 7 a.m.
- Sunday, June 12 at 7 p.m. until Monday, June 13 at 7 a.m.
- Monday, June 13 at 7 p.m. until Tuesday, June 14 at 7 a.m.
- Tuesday, June 14 at 7 p.m. until Wednesday, June 15 at 7 a.m.
- Wednesday, June 15 at 7 p.m. until Thursday, June 16 at 7 a.m.
The closure is necessary for bridge overlay work. The full project will last approximately 10 months and should be completed by March 1, 2023. The scope of work includes cleaning, painting and overlay.
