Calcasieu Parish and Jefferson Davis Parish – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced scheduled nightly closures on US 165 at Interstate 10 in Calcasieu Parish and Jefferson Davis Parish. The closures, set to begin on September 30, 2024, will affect both northbound and southbound lanes, with specific dates and detour routes outlined below.

According to the DOTD, the closures are necessary for road maintenance and repairs. To minimize disruptions, the DOTD has planned the closures to take place during nighttime hours, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

On Monday, September 30, and Tuesday, October 1, 2024, the US 165 southbound road will be closed between the I-10 westbound on-ramp and the I-10 eastbound exit ramp. During this time, drivers can take a detour route by heading west onto LA 101, then south onto LA 383, and finally east onto LA 3258, before reconnecting to US 165.

Starting on Wednesday, October 2, and continuing through Friday, October 4, 2024, both the northbound and southbound lanes of US 165 will be closed between the I-10 westbound on-ramp and the I-10 eastbound exit ramp. To navigate this closure, drivers can detour by heading east onto I-10 South Frontage Road, then north onto LA 101, and finally north onto US 165.

Additionally, I-10 westbound traffic will need to take a detour by traveling west onto LA 3258, then north onto LA 383, before reconnecting to the I-10 westbound on-ramp at LA 383.

Drivers are advised to plan their route ahead of time and allow for extra travel time to account for the detours. The I-10 westbound on-ramp will remain open to US 165 southbound traffic during the closures.
