Original article:

Officials have reported that around 4 a.m. this morning an 18-wheeler carrying used motor oil and used engine coolant overcorrected and flipped several times on I-10 in Westlake near the Calcasieu River Bridge. The 18-wheeler was then struck by another vehicle. The 18-wheeler that flipped began to leak its load onto the highway. The leaking fluid covered all three lanes of the highway. One of the drivers was transported to a local hospital. The other driver refused medical attention.

Cleanup efforts have been ongoing since this morning. Westlake Chief of Police, Chris Wilrye has said that they are hoping to reopen lanes on I-10 by 3 p.m. today. Drivers should also be aware that crews may remain working on the cleanup in the median and on shoulders of the roadway after lanes are open.
