Upcoming Events this Weekend in Southwest Louisiana to Entertain, Scare, and Keep You Engaged

Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana – This weekend, Southwest Louisiana is set to host a diverse range of events, catering to different interests and age groups. From haunted attractions to live music performances, art exhibitions, and family-friendly activities, there’s something for everyone.

The Lost Hollows Haunted Attraction, a popular event in the city, is scheduled to take place on September 27 and 28. The attraction, which features a haunted house, will be open from 6:00 pm to 11:30 pm on both days. The Lost Hollows Haunted Attraction is open weekly until October 26, 2024.

For those interested in live music, there are several events lined up this weekend. The Golden Nugget Lake Charles will host a concert by Brett Young on September 28, while Crying Eagle Brewing will feature live performances by Hailey & Brett Cooley on September 27 and Alec Dean Duo on September 28.

Art enthusiasts can visit the Gallery by the Lake, which is hosting two exhibitions, “Finding Home” and “Hit Me With Your Best Shot Photography Exhibition.” The exhibitions will be open to the public from September 27 to October 5 and November 30, respectively.

Families can enjoy a range of activities, including the Nickelodeon Worldwide Day of Play at Prien Lake Park on September 28, the Annual Fall Fest at 5290 Choupique Rd on September 28, and the Skatember Glow Party: Family Night FINALE at the Lake Charles Event Center on September 28.

In addition to these events, the Southwest Louisiana will also host several recurring events, including Friday Night Karaoke with DJ Rooster at The Social Club, Friday Night Music at The Max Restaurant at The National, and Tini’s & Tito’s with Tai at Juicy’s Lounge.

On Saturday, Lake Charles will host several farmers’ markets, including the Charlestown Farmers Market (Downtown), Moss Bluff Farmers Market, and Westlake Farmers Market. A Pasta Making 101 class will also take place at Pasta Lab on Saturday.

For those looking for a relaxing Sunday, SWLA offers several brunch options, including Brew-zy Brunch at Crying Eagle Brewing, Sunday Fun Day Zydeco Brunch w/ Zydecane at Rikenjaks, and Sunday Jazz Brunch at Luna Bar & Grill and Tia Juanita’s Fish Camp.
