Unrestrained Texas Driver Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash on LA 433 in St. Tammany Parish

St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana – An unrestrained Texas driver was killed in a single-vehicle crash on LA 433 in St. Tammany Parish.

Troopers from Troop L began investigating a single-vehicle fatal incident on LA Highway 433 near Lank Street in St. Tammany Parish on June 12, 2023, shortly before 4:00 p.m., according to Louisiana State Police (LSP). Robin Ellett, 52, of Houston, Texas, was killed in the crash.

According to LSP, the incident occurred when Ellett was driving westbound on LA Highway 433 in a 2010 Mercedes-Benz GLK. The Mercedes-Benz went off the road to the right for reasons that are still being investigated. The Mercedes-Benz collided with an asphalt embankment after leaving the road.
Ellett was reportedly unrestrained at the time of the accident and died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. She was declared dead at the spot. This crash is still being investigated.

LSP indicated that while not all crashes are survivable, statistics show that properly wearing your seat belt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash.

Louisiana law requires that every person in a vehicle, regardless of seating position, always remain buckled up. Properly wearing your seat belt is one of the most effective ways to save your life and reduce injuries in crashes.
