Red River Parish, Louisiana – On the morning of October 6, 2023, just before 8:30 am, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop G initiated an investigation into a fatal crash on LA Hwy 787 near LA Hwy 155. Tragically, Jodi Tingle, aged 36, from Castor, Louisiana lost her life in this single-vehicle crash.

The preliminary findings indicate that Tingle was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Suburban southbound on LA Hwy 787 when she failed to navigate a right-hand curve. As a result, the vehicle veered off the road to the left and rolled over multiple times. Regrettably, Tingle was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the Suburban during the crash, suffering fatal injuries.

The Red River Parish Coroner’s Office pronounced her dead at the scene.

While there is no suspicion of impairment in this case, standard toxicology tests were conducted and will be analyzed. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.

Motorists are urged by Troopers to consistently make responsible choices while operating vehicles: never drive under the influence or when tired or distracted; adhere to all traffic regulations; and ensure that all passengers are properly restrained. Although not every crash can be survived, adopting these simple precautions can often determine whether one lives or dies.

In total for 2023 thus far, Troop G has handled 19 fatal crashes resulting in 19 fatalities.
