Unrestrained Louisiana Man Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash on US 90
Louisiana – According to Louisiana State Police, Troopers with LSP Troop B responded to a single-vehicle crash on US 90B east at Terry Parkway on May 24, 2022, shortly after 4:00 a.m. Bret Isaac, Jr., 37, of Marrero, Louisiana, died as a result of the crash. According to the preliminary investigation, Isaac was driving a 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue east in the right lane of US 90B near the Terry Parkway intersection. As Isaac approached the intersection, his vehicle veered off the road to the right and collided with a traffic signal support post for unknown reasons.
During the crash, Isaac, who was unrestrained, was ejected from the vehicle. He sustained serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died. Isaac’s impairment is unknown, and routine toxicology results are awaited.
Troopers want to remind drivers of the importance of making safe decisions behind the wheel. While not all accidents are avoidable, wearing a seatbelt significantly reduces the chances of being killed or seriously injured in an accident. Distractions that divert the driver’s attention away from the road should be avoided. Having a plan and making sound decisions could mean the difference between today and tomorrow.
