Vermilion Parish, Louisiana - On September 26, 2023, at 9:15 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop I was alerted about a single-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 82, close to Alcide Circle in Vermilion Parish. The victim of the crash was 44-year-old Nicholas Ray Seaux from Abbeville, Louisiana.

State Police's preliminary investigation indicates that the crash happened while Seaux was driving a 2016 Toyota Tundra on LA 82 in an easterly direction. The reasons are yet to be determined, but the Tundra veered off the road to the left and ran into a tree.

Authorities ascertained that Seaux was not wearing a seatbelt during the crash. He was taken to a nearby medical facility where he was declared dead shortly after. A sample was taken for toxicology testing and the crash is still under investigation.
