Unrestrained Louisiana Man Killed in Rollover Crash on LA 114

Louisiana – Louisiana State Police stated on August 21, 2022, that on August 20, 2022, at around 7:00 p.m., LSP Troop E responded to a fatal crash on Louisiana Highway 114 near Hessmer, Louisiana. Bobbie J. Moses, 71, of Mansura, Louisiana, was killed in the crash.

The initial investigation revealed that Moses was driving a 1988 Toyota pickup truck east on Louisiana Highway 114. Moses’ vehicle went off the road and down the ditch embankment before overturning for unknown reasons. Moses was thrown from the vehicle as a result of this action.

Moses, who was unrestrained, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead. A toxicological sample was collected and submitted for testing. This crash is still being investigated.

While not all accidents are avoidable, proper use of seat belts can significantly lower an occupant’s risk of death and injury. Making certain that all occupants are properly restrained can often mean the difference between life and death.

Troop E has investigated 29 fatal crashes so far in 2022, resulting in 31 deaths.
