Pitkin, Louisiana - In Allen Parish, Louisiana State Police Troop D arrived at the scene of a deadly vehicle crash on LA Hwy 377, just over 2 miles north of LA Hwy 112, a little before 6:15 a.m. on February 17, 2024. The incident took the life of 36-year-old Jared Bartley Doyle from Pitkin, Louisiana.

In the beginning stages of the investigation, it was discovered that a 2007 Dodge pickup truck driven by Doyle was heading north on LA 377. The truck veered off the road for reasons that are still unclear and collided with a tree.

Doyle, who was not restrained, according to LSP, received fatal injuries and was declared dead at the location.

A sample for toxicology testing was taken and will be sent for analysis. The investigation into this crash is ongoing.

Louisiana State Police indicates that wearing a seat belt is the most important action individuals can take to reduce the chances of getting injured in a vehicle crash. In Louisiana, it is mandatory for all passengers to be properly secured in their seats at all times. It only takes a few seconds to buckle up. Remember to always wear your seat belt for every journey, without exceptions.

So far in 2024, Troop D has investigated one deadly crash leading to one fatality.
