Unrestrained Louisiana Man Killed in Crash on US 165 After Colliding with a Tree

Louisiana - On November 2, 2022, Louisiana State Police reported that soon after 12:00 p.m., LSP Troop F responded to a single-vehicle crash on US Highway 165 south of LA Highway 843. Bobby J. Grant, 60, of Grayson, Louisiana, died in this crash. Grand was reportedly not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The early inquiry found that Grant was driving a 1994 Chevrolet S-10 south on US Highway 165. The Chevrolet left the road and collided with a tree for unknown reasons.

Grant suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Caldwell Parish Coroner's Office. A toxicological sample was collected and submitted for testing. This crash is still being investigated.

Although the specific reason for the incident is still being investigated, Troopers would like to remind the public that distracted and inattentive driving is dangerous and a primary cause of crashes in our state. To stay alert, motorists must pay attention to what is going on outside of the vehicle they are driving and get plenty of rest.

Troop F has investigated 25 fatal crashes so far in 2022, resulting in 28 deaths.
