Unrestrained Louisiana Man Killed in Crash on LA 1207 After His Vehicle Struck a Tree and Overturned

Louisiana – On October 13, 2022, Louisiana State Police reported that at around 6:25 a.m., LSP Troop E responded to a fatal crash on Louisiana Highway 1207 near Louisiana Highway 1206.

Shannon Crochet, 38, of Deville, Louisiana, was killed in this crash.

Crochet was driving a 2004 GMC truck west on Louisiana Highway 1207. Crochet’s vehicle went off the road for unknown reasons before colliding with a tree and overturning. Crochet was thrown from the truck as a result of this action.

Crochet, who was unrestrained, sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash and was declared dead at the scene. A toxicological sample was collected and submitted for testing. This crash is still being investigated.

While not all accidents are avoidable, the proper use of seat belts can significantly lower an occupant’s risk of death and injury. Making certain that all occupants are properly restrained can often mean the difference between life and death.

Troop E has investigated 41 fatal crashes so far in 2022, resulting in 43 deaths.
