Unrestrained Louisiana Man Killed After His Vehicle Struck a Tree in a Late Night Crash on LA 1054
Louisiana – Louisiana State Police confirmed on August 7, 2022, that on August 6, shortly after 11:10 p.m., Troopers from LSP Troop L began investigating a one-vehicle fatal crash on LA Hwy 1054 near North River Road in Tangipahoa Parish. Jeremiah Sims, 33, of Hammond, Louisiana, was killed in the crash.
The incident occurred when Sims was driving westbound on LA Hwy 1054 in a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado, according to the preliminary investigation. The Chevrolet veered off the road to the right and struck a tree for unknown reasons.
Sims was unrestrained at the time of the crash and died as a result of his injuries. Sims was declared dead at the scene. A toxicological sample was acquired from the driver for analysis as part of the continuing inquiry. This crash is still being investigated.
