Paulina, Louisiana – On the evening of March 12, 2025, at approximately 8:15 p.m., a fatal crash occurred on LA 70 near LA 3125 in St. James Parish, Louisiana. Troopers from the Louisiana State Police Troop A responded promptly to the scene of the incident, which claimed the life of 37-year-old Demaricus Kensie, a resident of Donaldsonville, Louisiana.
According to the preliminary investigation, Kensie was driving a 2019 Jeep Wrangler eastbound on LA 70 when, for reasons that remain undetermined, the vehicle veered off the roadway to the right and subsequently overturned. During the crash, Kensie was unrestrained and was ejected from the vehicle. Emergency responders pronounced him deceased at the scene.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and authorities have noted that impairment has not been ruled out as a contributing factor. A standard toxicology sample will be taken from Kensie and submitted for analysis, which may provide further insights into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
In addition to Kensie’s tragic death, the crash also resulted in serious injuries to a juvenile passenger in the Jeep. The injured passenger was transported to a local hospital for treatment, although details regarding their condition have not been released.
