Unidentified Driver Killed, Other Driver Uninjured in Head-On Crash in Louisiana on LA 182
Louisiana - The Louisiana State Police Troop I was notified of a two-vehicle incident on Louisiana Highway 182 Long-Allen Bridge (old bridge) between Morgan City and Berwick in St. Mary Parish shortly after 2:30 p.m. on October 23, 2022. An unidentified man was killed in the crash.
The unidentified individual was driving a 2013 Toyota Corolla westbound on LA 182. A 2017 Ram pickup truck was heading east on LA 182 at the same moment. The Corolla collided with the pickup in the eastbound lane of the raised segment of the LA 182 Long-Allen Bridge for unknown reasons.
The unidentified individual was restrained but died at the scene of his injuries. The St. Mary Parish Coroner's Office ruled him dead. Despite the fact that he was not restrained, the Ram driver suffered no injuries. The extent of impairment is unknown, but routine toxicology samples were taken from both drivers, and the results are pending. This collision is still being investigated.
