Unidentified Driver Killed in Fiery Early Morning Crash on LA 16
Louisiana – On October 21, 2022, Louisiana State Police reported that Troopers from LSP Troop L began investigating a single-vehicle fatal accident on LA Hwy 16 near LA Hwy 25 in Washington Parish soon before 2:45 a.m. An unidentified driver was killed in the incident.
The incident occurred while the driver was driving westbound on LA Hwy 16 in a 2015 Ford F-150, according to the preliminary investigation. The Ford went off the road to the right for reasons that are still being investigated. After leaving the route, the Ford collided with a tree and caught fire.
Because of the substantial damage to the vehicle, restraint use is unknown. The driver was declared dead at the scene. The driver's impairment is unknown, and the collision is still being investigated.
Troopers want to urge drivers to always make wise decisions when driving. Never drive while inebriated, fatigued, or distracted, and always obey all traffic rules. While not all car accidents are avoidable, simple precautions like these can frequently mean the difference between life and death.
