Lake Charles, LA – This fall, the Arts & Humanities Council of Southwest Louisiana is bringing back its popular Living History Cemetery Tour, offering a unique opportunity for locals and visitors to delve into the region’s rich history. On Saturday, November 2, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., guests can take guided walking tours through four historic cemeteries, where actors dressed in period attire will bring the stories of prominent locals to life.
The tour will visit Bilbo Cemetery, Sallier Cemetery, Combre Memorial Park, and Orange Grove Cemetery, where patrons will learn about the lives and legacies of influential figures who shaped Southwest Louisiana. The larger-than-life characters will share their stories and achievements from their own perspectives, providing a captivating and immersive experience.
Tickets for the Living History Cemetery Tour are now available for purchase online, with prices ranging from $15 for adults to free for children under 7 (accompanied by a ticket-holding adult). Patrons can take advantage of an early bird special running until October 2nd.
The self-guided tour allows participants to drive to each cemetery location at their own pace, with actors stationed at each site to regale visitors with tales of the past.
