Two Suspects Arrested in Louisiana After Allegedly Stealing the Catalytic Converter From the Same Vehicle Twice in Two Days
West Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana – Two suspects have been arrested in Louisiana after allegedly stealing the catalytic converter from the same vehicle twice in two days.
West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff Mike Cazes revealed on March 23, 2023, that the West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office arrested Nathan Dean, 39, of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Megean Allen, 35, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for alleged theft on March 17.
Nathan Dean and Megean Allen are accused of removing a catalytic converter from a Toyota Sequoia parked in a parking lot in Port Allen, Louisiana, and then returning two days later to remove a second catalytic converter from the same Toyota Sequoia. Detectives reportedly got a vehicle description and information that Nathan Dean and Megean Allen were captured on video stealing five gas cans from a property on Kahn’s Road in Port Allen, Louisiana, during the course of the investigation.
Investigators were able to apprehend Nathan Dean and Megean Allen with the assistance of the West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division.
Investigators reportedly discovered a cutting tool and various blades, as well as two stolen catalytic converters, during a search of Nathan Dean’s vehicle.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
