Two Louisiana Teens Arrested for Allegedly Stealing a Truck from a Repair Shop and Other Charges

Jennings, Louisiana – The Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office reported on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, that deputies patrolling on West Wood Street at the intersection of South Nichols Street in Jennings, Louisiana observed a white GMC truck traveling east on Wood Street with a lightbar on, impeding the vision of oncoming drivers.

As deputies attempted a traffic stop, the truck driver reportedly accelerated and drove onto South Sumner Street. Deputies saw two young men depart the truck and flee. Deputies and Jennings Police officers searched the area and found two people.

The GMC truck’s owner was called, and deputies were informed that the truck had been stolen from a local repair shop.

During the investigation, Jennings police officers reportedly discovered a stolen weapon in the backpack of one of the subjects apprehended.

The first of two 15-year-olds was taken to the Sheriff’s office and cited with Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Resisting an Officer. The second juvenile, a 15-year-old male, was cited and released for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and Resisting an Officer.

Both minors were returned to their parents.

A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
