Two Louisiana Suspects Arrested for Attempted Murder in Connection with Shots Fired in DeRidder

DeRidder, Louisiana – Two suspects from Louisiana have been arrested for attempted first-degree murder after shots were fired in DeRidder, Louisiana, on January 6, 2023.

On Friday, January 6, 2023, at about 2:25 p.m., the DeRidder Police Department and the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office reported responding to a shots-fired report in the 500 block of Park Ave in DeRidder, Louisiana.

During the first investigation, it was determined that two people, Nakylan Blake and Nakeya “KP” Blake of DeRidder, were the suspects in the event.

Deputies from the DeRidder Police Department and the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office were able to find Nakylan Blake, 21, and Nakeya Blake, 23. They were both arrested and booked into jail for Attempted First-Degree Murder, with a bond set by a judge.

This incident resulted in no injuries.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty.
