Two Louisiana Sex Offenders Arrested in Calcasieu Parish for Failure to Comply with Registration Requirements

Lake Charles, Louisiana – The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office reported on September 12, 2022, that the Sex Offender Unit arrested convicted registered sex offender Thaddeus D. Hunter, 60, of Lake Charles, Louisiana after it was discovered he had been working in Calcasieu Parish for approximately two months without notifying the proper authorities of his employment information, as required by law for all registered sex offenders.

He was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center on September 8 and charged with failure to register as a sex offender. His bond was set at $65,000 by Judge Tony Fazzio.
Hunter was convicted of sexual battery in Calcasieu Parish in 1994. He was also convicted in Calcasieu Parish of failing to register as a sex offender in 2019 and again in 2020.

After an investigation discovered he failed to comply with his sex offender registration requirements, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Unit investigators issued a warrant for convicted sex offender Nobryan V. McGee, 34, of Lake Charles, Louisiana on August 9.
During the course of the inquiry, it was discovered that McGee purchased a vehicle in December 2021 and neglected to report the information to law enforcement prior to using the vehicle, putting him in violation of his sex offender registration obligations.

On August 9, CPSO deputies apprehended McGee, who tried to flee on foot. McGee was apprehended, arrested, and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center after a brief foot pursuit. He was charged with failure to register as a sex offender. His bond was set at $65,000 by Judge Tony Fazzio.

McGee was convicted of simple rape in 2006 in Bossier Parish. He was also convicted in 2006 and 2010 of failing to register as a sex offender in Bossier Parish.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
