Two Louisiana Men Cited for Hunting Violations Involving Killing a Turkey, Turkey was Seized and Donated to Charity
LaSalle Parish, Louisiana – Two Louisiana men have been cited for hunting violations involving killing a turkey. The turkey was seized and donated to a charity.
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) announced on March 7, 2023, that enforcement agents cited two males on March 4 in LaSalle Parish for an alleged hunting infraction.
Bradley M. Eubanks, 27, of Jena, Louisiana, was cited with hunting turkey during a closed season, and Michael L. Eubanks, 51, of Jena, Louisiana, was cited with criminal conspiracy.
Agents were on patrol near Jean in LaSalle Parish on March 4 when they noticed Bradley Eubanks hunting. The agents then heard a single gunshot fired from the subject’s location.
Agents then made contact with Michael Eubanks, who was in the process of picking up Bradley Eubanks in a truck. When agents contacted Bradley Eubanks, he acknowledged killing a turkey. According to agents, Michael Eubanks admitted to dropping off Bradley Eubanks earlier in the morning, and he was returning to pick him up.
This area’s turkey season begins on April 1, 2023. The turkey was confiscated by agents and donated to a local charity.
Each crime of hunting turkey during a closed season and criminal conspiracy carries a $900 to $950 fine and up to 120 days in jail.
Bradley Eubanks could also face civil restitution of $1,539 for the illegally obtained turkey’s replacement value.
Sgt. Richard Heinold and Sgt. Jesse Davis are the agents working on the investigation.
A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
